During this pandemic, nurses have to increase safety measures from COVID-19 in order for them to prevent them from getting Coronavirus.Throughout this national emergency, plenty of hospitals have been unable to put their safety at top priority, however they still need to tend to patients. Approximately, 60% of nurses work at the hospital while 15% of them work in critical care units and other nurses do not work at all. Financial incentives could assist working nurses and give them an opportunity to serve throughout the country without any worry while helping the states. Hospitals have put a high demand on nurses because also giving them larger wages than usually during them pandemic to help the community get treated. This is also an opportunity for students to get into student loan payment programs through this emergency. They mention that they should send nurses to where they need to be during this time of need. States could instantly activate nurses’ licenses again to those who have already retired or had an expired license in order to be in the front lines. Some nurses have not been out of the field for years and could prove useful by being on the telephone line in order to see if anyone has any symptoms that could possibly be diagnosed as the virus. They also mention that nurse practitioners and physician assistants should be at home during this quarantine as well. These risks could potentially expand all across the country as well. Hospitals will need to find an objective on how state regulators will find the most safest ways to make the healthcare environment better for both workers and patients through this state of emergency. Nursing students can learn clinical skills and the ones who are going to graduate in the spring can begin working in the hospitals and learn how to react when emergencies occur in the hospital. However they will have to take their licensing exams and become a temporary RN during the pandemic. This is also be a part of their education during this time to see how to become a RN the correct way throughout the nursing program. Teaching them how to put their needs behind for the patients in order to work for mental health programs and child care and go and assist them mentally especially during these times to offer up different strategies throughout this time of need for the people.
